The decorations were for a party/ceremony. Everyone wanted to join the party, but the party was only for some special guests. Madhuri Dixit, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Arshad Warsi with Huma Qureshi. The rest of the people were not allowed to take part in the party being held in King Mahmudabad’s Fort because this was the reel life party of Begum Para.
Hey, look, there’s Madhuri
60 kms from the city, the Fort of Mahmudabad is totally buzzing with activity. If inside the fort there is a conglomeration of stars then on the outside there is a rush to get a glimpse of the stars. Besides the main entrance, there is another way in through the garden, and it is in this garden that the crowd has gathered. Instead of going home after school, if the children are spending hours at the site, their teachers too are not far behind. If women are coming in groups to catch a glimpse of the star, the girls are second to none. Everyone just wants to see Madhuri Dixit.
When the dancing queen arrived
Wearing a green churidaar kurta with mukesh work and a similar colored head scarf with mukeshi work wrapped around her head, when Madhuri alighted from her vanity van, it completely mesmerised the onlookers. When they saw Madhuri Dixit who plays Begum Para in the film, the cheers of the people standing outside the fort reached far and wide. Madhuri sat in the car which took her inside the fort. After a wait of about an hour, Madhuri came out of the car in her get-up. Her fans waited all this while to catch her glimpse. Madhuri is playing a Muslim woman in the film and gave a shot of offering namaz.
Not Nasir uncle, we want Arshad
Naseeruddin Shah came to the shoot dressed for the party. Dressed in a kurta pajama and Jamawar shawl, his look reminded us of the film Sarfarosh. Nasir alighted from the car and waved at the people standing outside the fort and smiled. His wife Ratna Pathak Shah who was with him saw the crowd and could not stop laughing. Seeing Nasir the youth present there suddenly started shouting, ‘Hey, this ia Nasir uncle, we want to see Arshad.’ But there was no shortage of fans for Nasir either as the crowd started singing his Oye Oye song from Tridev .
When Arshad arrived, there was so much noise that the police had to get up and stop them. After the release of Ishqiya and films of the Munnabhai series, Arshad’s popularity has gone up.
Whereas the fort usually doesn’t have much of security, now police and private security guards are guarding the place.
