Madhuri may return to TV with Hindi remake of "The Good Wife"

Dahk Dhak Beauty, Madhuri Dixit may return to TV with Hindi remake of The Good Wife

She moved back to India in 2011. Although, since then Madhuri Dixit has signed only select Bollywood projects (Dedh Ishqiya and Gulab Gang), her fans have a surprise in store. If all goes well, Madhuri may soon appear in her first fiction TV show with the Indian remake of the hit American series, The Good Wife. The US show stars Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski and Archie Panjabi in the lead roles.

Apparently, one of the biggest production houses in the country is in talks with Madhuri for the central role in the adaptation. In fact, the buzz is that she has already agreed to take up the project. The formal paperwork is yet to be finalised as her dates and remuneration are still being discussed. “This will be a big-budget show. Since Madhuri is busy with several other commitments including her films, the availability of her dates is the only aspect that poses a major challenge. Things will get clearer in the next two to three weeks,” says an insider.

If Madhuri successfully makes her TV debut, she will join the new league of film stars who will soon turn tele-stars with fiction shows; others include Anil Kapoor, who is in the process of remaking the hit series 24, and Amitabh Bachchan, who reportedly plans to star in a show that will be produced by AB Corp. Madhuri’s manager could not be reached.
