Madhuri Dixit’s return to TV as a contestant on Bigg Boss 5 escalate, doctor-husband locates job at top city hospital, actor says she’ll touch down mid-October just ahead of Diwali, admits shifting countries is harder on her children.

Come mid-October, and Madhuri Dixit will be back in Mumbai. actor is shifting base from Denver, US, where she has stayed for nearly a decade after surprising Bollywood with her sudden wedding to Dr Sriram Nene. Her sons, Arin and Rayan, were also born and raised there.
“These shifts are way tougher on kids than they are on adults. It’s not like they’ll never go back to the US. But that’ll be for brief periods like school holidays and festivals. Their education will largely happen in Mumbai, although we haven’t finalised a school for them,” says Madhuri, adding that this is not her kids’ first trip to India.

Her younger son Rayan doesn’t understand what’s going on, but older Arin is shuttling between happiness and sadness. “They’ve stayed here for six months when I was filming Aaja Nachle (2007). Now, it’s time they got used to India, Maharashtra and Mumbai, our culture, languages and true style of living. My parents are shifting back here from Denver. Ram’s parents will visit often. So, they won’t miss family. Friends? Yes.”

While the actor’s finishing up the last bit of packing and completing visa formalities for her parents, she says that her husband, Sriram, is looking for permanent employment at various top-notch city hospitals he’s visited in the past.

Madhuri, meantime, is planning to do up her Juhu pad to make it more child-friendly. “Once we’re here, we’ll know if we really need a bigger house. If we do, we’ll find one. Otherwise, hamara ghar hai na (we have a house, anyway)!” she says with a laugh.

From the time she announced her return, speculations have increased about her participation in Bigg Boss 5 as a short-term contestant, and her re-entry as the celebrity judge on Jhalak Dikkhlaa Jaa’s next edition, which is likely to start soon after Kaun Banega Crorepati.

“I don’t know where the Bigg Boss rumour came from because that show doesn’t suit my personality. And I haven’t been approached for it. If they contact me in the future, I’d have to check what’s on offer,” says Madhuri. “As for Jhalak, talks are definitely on for the next season. But it’s too premature to divulge details.”
